2 (15 oz each) cans diced sweet potatoes, drained, divided
1 ½ c. peeled, cored and sliced apples, divided
½ c. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar
½ tsp. Hy-Vee salt
1 tsp. apple pie spice
¼ c. Hy-Vee butter, divided
¼ c. Hy-Vee chopped pecans

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a greased 8-by-8-inch baking dish, layer 1/2 the sweet potatoes and 1/2 the apple slices.
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, salt and apple pie spice. Sprinkle 1/2 the brown sugar mixture over apples. Dot with 2 tablespoons butter. Repeat layers, ending with butter. Sprinkle with pecans.
  3. Bake uncovered for 50 minutes or until apples are tender.
