|½ c.||Hy-Vee ketchup|
|1||shallot, coarsely chopped|
|1 tbsp.||liquid smoke flavoring|
|1 tbsp.||packed Hy-Vee brown sugar|
|1 ½ tsp.||Hy-Vee Worcestershire sauce|
|¾ tsp.||Hy-Vee lemon pepper|
|½ tsp.||cayenne pepper|
|¼ c.||Hy-Vee cola|
|3 lbs.||Hormel Always Tender pork loin country-style ribs|
|Hy-Vee salt and Hy-Vee pepper, to taste|
- In a blender, combine ketchup, molasses, shallot, liquid smoke, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon pepper and cayenne pepper. Puree until smooth. Pour into a medium bowl and stir in cola. Cover and refrigerate.
- Season ribs with salt and pepper. Place ribs meaty-side-down on grill over medium-low heat. Cover and grill for about 1 1/2 hours, flipping every 15 minutes, or until ribs are tender.
- Grill for an additional 30 minutes, generously basting ribs with sauce, flipping every 5 to 10 minutes. Remove ribs from grill and let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
- *Test Kitchen tip: The sauce can be made 1 day in advance. Blend, cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
