1 (14.5 oz) can Hy-Vee diced tomatoes, undrained
½ tsp. Hy-Vee Italian seasoning
¼ tsp. fennel seeds
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
Hy-Vee crushed red pepper
Hy-Vee brown sugar
Hy-Vee salt and Hy-Vee pepper, to taste
Hy-Vee pasta, prepared according to package directions, optional
Hy-Vee shredded Parmesan cheese, optional

Directions

  1. Combine tomatoes, Italian seasoning, fennel seeds, garlic, crushed red pepper and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Simmer 15 minutes or until slightly thickened and tomatoes are softened. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Serve marinara over pasta and if desired, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
