Spicy Cheese Fondue

¼ c. Hy-Vee butter | ||
¼ c. Hy-Vee flour | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee Worcestershire sauce | ||
¼ tsp. Hy-Vee dry mustard | ||
½ tsp. cayenne pepper | ||
1 ½ c. Hy-Vee skim milk | ||
1 (8 oz) pkg Hoffman's pepper jack cheese, shredded | ||
1 (8 oz) pkg Hoffman's super-sharp cheddar cheese, shredded | ||
Melba snacks or Wholesome Harvest sweet wheat baguette, cut into bite-size pieces, optional |
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter. Whisk in flour, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard and cayenne pepper. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in cheeses. Stir constantly until cheese is melted.
- Transfer to a fondue pot and place over low heat or transfer to a slow cooker and keep warm on the LOW setting. Serve fondue with Melba snacks or bread, if desired.
