Heat olive oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and thyme. Sauté until onions are soft, about 10 minutes. Stir in beans, broth, tomatoes and cumin; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
