    1 c. Hy-Vee unsalted butter butter, softened
    1 ½ c. plus 2 tbsp Hy-Vee granulated sugar, divided
    2 Hy-Vee large eggs
    2 ¾ c. Hy-Vee all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee baking soda
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee salt
    2 tsp. Hy-Vee ground cinnamon

    Directions

    1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar, and eggs.

    2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture, beating until well combined. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or until easy to handle.

    3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine remaining 2 tbsp sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Form dough into 1-inch balls and roll cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and cookies are set. Cool on a wire cooling rack.
