    Everyone should have a recipe for Sloppy Joes in their back pocket, and this slow cooker version is one of our favorites. It's nothing fancy, just a simple and delicious way to feed a crowd.

    3 lbs. ground chuck or ground beef
    1 to 2 onions, , finely chopped, optional
    2 (8 oz each) cans Hy-Vee tomato sauce
    ¾ c. Hy-Vee ketchup
    1 tbsp. Hy-Vee Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp. chili powder
    ¼ tsp. Hy-Vee ground black pepper
    ¼ tsp. Hy-Vee garlic powder
    14 Hy-Vee hamburger buns

    Things To Grab

    • Medium skillet
    • Colander
    • Slow-cooker

    Directions

    1. Brown ground meat in a skillet. Drain fat, using colander, and place meat in a slow-cooker.

    2. Add onions (if desired), tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, pepper and garlic powder. Stir thoroughly.
    3. Cover slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours, or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.
    4. Serve on hamburger buns.
