    1orange, thinly sliced, plus additional for garnish
    10whole cloves
    9star anise, plus additional for garnish
    ½ c.Hy-Vee honey
    4cinnamon sticks, plus additional for garnish
    5slices fresh ginger, peeled
    9 oz.Jack Daniel's whiskey, divided

    • Heat-proof pitcher
    • 6-oz. mugs

    Directions

    1. Add wine, orange slices, cloves, star anise, honey, cinnamon sticks, and fresh ginger to a large slow cooker. Heat on low for 30 minutes, or up to 3 hours. Strain mixture into a large heat-proof pitcher.

    2. Just before serving, pour 1-oz. Jack Daniel's into each 6-oz. mug and top with mulled wine.  Garnish each mug with star anise, orange slices, and/or cinnamon sticks, if desired.
