    1 large onion, thinly sliced
    4 lbs. Hy-Vee country-style pork ribs
    2 tbsp. Hy-Vee brown sugar, packed
    ½ tsp. kosher salt
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee ground black pepper
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee garlic powder
    ½ c. Hy-Vee apple cider
    1 (18-oz.) bottle barbecue sauce
    1 fresh jalapeno pepper, sliced, for garnish

    Directions

    1. Place onion in a 6-quart slow cooker; place ribs on top. Sprinkle brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on ribs. Add apple cider to slow cooker.

    2. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours. Carefully drain and discard liquid from pork. Pour barbecue sauce over pork. Cover and cook on LOW for 1 hour more or until pork is fork-tender. Garnish with jalapeno pepper slices, if desired.
