    Napoleons are French pastries that are made from multiple crispy layers of puff pastry and a variety of fillings. For our version, we layered creamy vanilla-flavored whipped topping and fresh strawberries.

    ½(17.3-oz.) pkg. puff pastry, (1 sheet)
    ½ c.Hy-Vee frozen original whipped topping, thawed
    1(3.25-oz.) Hy-Vee vanilla pudding snack cup
    2 c.fresh strawberries, sliced, plus additional for garnish
    Hy-Vee powdered sugar, for garnish
    Dark chocolate, melted, for garnish

    Directions

    1. Bake puff pastry according to package directions; cool completely. Cut pastry in half lengthwise; cut each half into 3 sections; set aside.

    2. Combine whipped topping and vanilla pudding in a medium bowl. Layer pastry sections with pudding mixture and sliced strawberries; repeat to create 3 layers. Sprinkle top layer with powdered sugar and drizzle with melted dark chocolate. Garnish with fresh sliced strawberries, if desired.
