    ¾ c.pomegranate seeds
    Pomegranate Spiced Hot Chocolate
    ¾ c.pomegranate juice
    ½ c.Hy-Vee semisweet chocolate chips
    ¼ tsp.Hy-Vee ground cinnamon
    ¼ tsp.Hy-Vee ground nutmeg
    1 dash(es)Hy-Vee salt
    2 oz.chocolate liqueur, optional
    2 tbsp.Hy-Vee frozen whipped topping, thawed, for serving
    Pomegranate seeds, for garnish

    • 2 microwave-safe bowls

    • 2 6-oz. mugs

    Directions

    1. Make Pomegranate Chocolate Bark: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside. Place dark chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH at 30-second increments until melted, stirring after each increment. Spread melted chocolate onto prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until set. Break into pieces. 

    2. Make Pomegranate Spiced Hot Chocolate: Place pomegranate juice in a microwave-safe measuring cup. Microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes or until boiling. 

    3. Combine chocolate chips, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a medium bowl. Add hot pomegranate juice and whisk mixture until chocolate is melted. Slowly whisk in chocolate liqueur, if desired. Pour into two, 6-oz. each, mugs. Serve topped with whipped topping and pomegranate seeds, and add a piece of Pomegranate Chocolate Bark, if desired.
