    1 c.water
    ¾ c.sugar, plus additional for sweetening
    4 slice(s)fresh ginger root
    6 c.pear nectar
    1 c.fresh lemon juice, from 5 to 6 lemons
    Fresh lemon slices, for serving

    Directions

    1. To make ginger simple syrup, bring water and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan. Reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in the ginger. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Strain through a sieve over a bowl, and discard ginger.
    2. Combine pear nectar, ginger simple syrup and lemon juice in a pitcher over ice; chill. Adjust sweetness to taste.
    3. Garnish with fresh lemon slices before serving.
