Description

This vibrant red fruit sauce offers a complex blend of peach and plum flavors. Serve it on pancakes, waffles or ice cream sundaes. Mix and match different varieties of stone fruit and jam as you please.

2 white or yellow peaches, pitted and sliced into thick wedges
1/3 to 1/2 c. water, depending on ripeness
1 c. red plum jam
1 ½ tsp. fresh lemon juice
1 ½ tsp. Hy-Vee butter
½ tsp. peach brandy

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine peach slices and 1/3 cup water. Use more water if peaches are less ripe. Bring to boiling; reduce heat to medium-low heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until peaches are softened, stirring occasionally.
  2. Reduce heat to low. Stir in jam, lemon juice, butter and brandy and cook for 2 minutes more. Cool slightly. Store, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
