    ½ c. butter
    ¼ c. granulated sugar
    ¼ c. cocoa
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg, beaten
    2 c. crushed graham crackers
    1 c. flaked coconut
    ½ c. butter, softened
    3 tbsp. milk
    1 (3.75 oz) pkg vanilla instant pudding mix
    2 c. sifted powdered sugar
    1 (6 oz) pkg chocolate chips
    2 tbsp. butter


    1. Combine 1/2 cup butter, white sugar, cocoa and vanilla in top part of double boiler. Cook over simmering water until butter melts. Stir in egg. Continue cooking and stirring until thick, about 3 minutes. Stir in graham cracker crumbs and coconut. Press into buttered 9-inch-square pan.
    2. Beat softened butter. Add milk, pudding mix and powdered sugar; beat until fluffy. Spread evenly over crust. Refrigerate until firm.
    3. Melt chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons butter in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Cool. Spread over pudding layer.
    4. Refrigerate until firm. Cut into 2-by-3/4-inch bars.
