    ½ c.margarine, softened
    ½ c.granulated sugar, plus additional for rolling
    ¾ c.brown sugar
    1 tsp.vanilla
    1large egg
    ¼ c.molasses
    2 ¾ c.flour
    1 tsp.baking soda
    1 tsp.cinnamon
    ½ tsp.ground cloves
    ½ tsp.ground ginger
    1 tsp.salt

    Directions

    1. Cream margarine, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat in vanilla, egg and molasses. Stir in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
    2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray or lightly oil a cookie sheet.
    3. Roll dough into balls and roll in granulated sugar. Place on prepared baking sheet.
    4. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove cookies to wire rack to cool.
