    1 c. Hy-Vee shredded mild cheddar cheese, divided
    1 package(s) (16-oz.) Hy-Vee refrigerated everything bagels (5 count), cut into 1-inch pieces
    1 lbs. center-cut smoked ham steak
    ½ c. Hy-Vee chive & onion cream cheese spread
    Hy-Vee everything bagel seasoning, for garnish
    Green onions, for garnish

    Directions

    1. Spray a 3-quart rectangular baking dish with nonstick spray; set aside. Whisk together eggs and milk in a large bowl; stir in 1/2 cup cheese. Add bagel pieces; toss until well coated. Let stand for 5 minutes. 

    2. Meanwhile, pat ham steak dry with paper towels. Cut into 1/2-inch pieces.

    3. Transfer bagel pieces to prepared baking dish; reserve egg mixture in bowl. Top bagel pieces with ham, cream cheese dollops, remaining 1/2 cup shredded cheese, and reserved egg mixture. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

    4. To bake casserole, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake, covered, for 20 minutes. Remove foil; bake for 15 to 17 minutes more or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. 

    5. Garnish with everything bagel seasoning and green onions, if desired. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
