Icy cold and refreshing, classic margaritas get a fresh spin when you add kiwis to the mix. The sweet and tangy flavor notes make these unexpectedly refreshing.

Kosher salt
Lime wedge
½ c. Triple Sec or other orange-flavor liqueur
½ c. tequila
⅓ c. fresh lime juice
¼ c. Hy-Vee sugar
4 large kiwis, peeled and chopped
3 c. small ice cubes
Additional kiwi slices, for garnish

Directions

  1. Place some salt on a small plate. Rub rims of 5 margarita glasses with lime wedge. Dip rims of glasses in salt to coat; set aside.
  2. In a blender, add Triple Sec, tequila, lime juice, sugar, kiwi and ice. Cover and blend until smooth. Pour margaritas into salt-rimmed glasses. Garnish with kiwi slices, if desired.
