If you love spice, this is the burger for you! The combination of pepper jack cheese and fresh jalapenos spices up this classic burger.
Servings and Ingredients
|1 lbs.||lean ground beef|
|3||Hy-Vee Bakery Fresh sesame buns, split|
|6||Hy-Vee pepper jack cheese slices|
|1||medium white onion, sliced and sauteed|
|1||jalapeno, thinly sliced|
|1||small red bell pepper, sliced|
|1 tsp.||dried cilantro|
- Lightly grease grill rack. Prepare a charcoal or gas grill for direct cooking over medium heat.
- Divide ground beef into thirds and form into patties. Make a slight indentation in center of each burger for even cooking.
- Grill buns, if desired.
- Grill burger patties, flipping once, to an internal temperature of 160 degrees. Cooking time will depend on thickness of burger. Two minutes before removing patties from grill, top each with 2 slices of pepper jack cheese.
- To assemble burgers, top each bottom bun with sautéed onions, burger patty with cheese, jalapeno, pepper, cilantro and top bun.
