1 c. pale ale beer | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee garlic powder | ||
1 tsp. coarsely ground Hy-Vee black pepper | ||
2 (7 oz each) packages Kerrygold Irish cheese, shredded | ||
1 tbsp. Hy-Vee all-purpose flour | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee ground mustard | ||
2 tsp. fresh thyme leaves | ||
Pumpernickel rye bread, optional |
Directions
- In a small saucepan, bring beer, garlic powder and black pepper to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low to maintain a gentle simmer.
- In a large bowl, toss shredded cheese with flour and mustard. Slowly whisk into beer mixture and continue whisking until cheese is melted and slightly thickened. Stir in thyme leaves. Serve with bread, if desired.
