    6 Granny Smith apples
    ¼ c. Hy-Vee granulated sugar
    1 tbsp. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar
    ¼ tsp. Hy-Vee cinnamon
    1 Hy-Vee refrigerated pie crust

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Cut off the top of 4 apples and remove the apple flesh with a spoon. Reserve for another use or discard.

    3. For filling, peel remaining 2 apples and slice thinly.

    4. In a medium bowl, combine sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon. Divide among hollowed apples.

    5. Unroll pie crust and cut into 1/4-inch-wide strips. Cover top of apples in lattice pattern with pie crust strips.

    6. Place apples in a baking dish, cover with foil and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

    7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and apple filling is tender.
