    ½ c.Hy-Vee butter , softened
    1Hy-Vee large egg
    1 tsp.Hy-Vee vanilla extract
    ½ c.Hy-Vee canola oil
    2 ¾ c.Hy-Vee flour
    1 tsp.Hy-Vee baking soda
    1 tsp.cream of tartar
    additional Hy-Vee granulated sugar

    Directions

    1. Cream sugar and butter in a large mixing bowl. Beat in egg and vanilla. Beat in oil.

    2. Whisk together flour, baking soda and cream of tartar in a medium bowl. Beat into creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or until easy to handle.

    3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    4. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets 1-1/2 inches apart. Press down with a glass dipped in granulated sugar.

    5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are light golden brown. Remove from baking sheet and cool on wire rack.
