Honey Raisin and Pecan French Toast
Servings and Ingredients
|4||Hy-Vee large eggs|
|½ c.||Hy-Vee skim milk|
|½ tsp.||Hy-Vee vanilla|
|¼ tsp.||Hy-Vee ground cinnamon|
|4||(1-inch-thick) slices Hy-Vee Baking Stone raisin pecan bread|
|1 tbsp.||Hy-Vee unsalted butter|
|Hy-Vee powdered sugar, Hy-Vee Select maple syrup and fresh raspberries and blueberries, for serving|
- Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a shallow bowl or pie plate. Add bread slices and let stand about 1 minute on each side.
- Melt butter in a large non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Cook bread slices on each side until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side.
- To serve, sprinkle with powdered sugar, drizzle with maple syrup and garnish with fresh berries, if desired.
