Honey Crunch Peanut Butter Bars
Servings and Ingredients
|5 c.||Hy-Vee honey crunch cereal, crushed|
|½ c.||firmly packed Hy-Vee brown sugar|
|¼ c.||Hy-Vee honey|
|¼ c.||light corn syrup|
|¾ c.||Hy-Vee creamy peanut butter|
|2 c.||(12 ounces) Hy-Vee semi-sweet chocolate chips|
|1 tbsp.||butter or margarine, softened|
- Place cereal in a large bowl; set aside.
- In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine brown sugar, honey and corn syrup. Microwave on MEDIUM power until mixture comes to a boil. Stir peanut butter into syrup mixture and pour over cereal; stir to coat evenly. Press mixture into an 8-by-8-inch baking pan.
- Place chocolate chips in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on MEDIUM power for 30 seconds; stir. Repeat until chips are smooth and melted. Add butter; stir until smooth. Spread chocolate mixture over cereal mixture.
- Chill; cut into bars.
