    3 c. steel-cut oats
    1 c. Hy-Vee rolled oats or barley
    1 c. chopped Hy-Vee walnuts
    1 c. sliced Hy-Vee sliced almonds
    ½ c. chopped Hy-Vee dried apples
    ½ c. chopped Hy-Vee dried apricots
    ½ c. Hy-Vee raisins
    ¼ c. whole flax seeds

    Directions

    1. Mix oats, nuts, apples, apricots, raisins and flax seeds together in a large bowl. Transfer to an airtight container. (If storing for longer periods, keep the cereal in the freezer or refrigerator.) Serve hot or cold with milk or soymilk and toppings such as chopped fresh apple.
    2. Hot muesli for 2 servings: Add 1/2 cup muesli to 1/2 cup water, milk or soymilk and bring to boiling. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes. Or microwave muesli in a large bowl on HIGH 3 to 5 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
    3. Cold muesli for 2 servings: Soak 1/2 cup muesli in 3/4 cup yogurt, milk, soymilk or fruit juice 5 to 10 minutes or overnight.
