    4 c. Hy-Vee non-fat skim milk
    1 ¼ c. quick enriched hominy grits
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee salt
    1 (8-oz.) pkg. Hy-Vee cubed cooked ham (2 cups)
    4 oz. Culinary Tours original Havarti Danish style cheese, shredded
    ¼ c. plus 2 Tbsp. thinly sliced green onion, divided

    Directions

    1. Bring milk to a simmer in a 2-1/2 qt. saucepan over medium-high heat.

    2. Gradually whisk in grits. Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook 4 to 5 minutes or until grits begin to thicken, stirring frequently.

    3. Add ham, cheese and 1/4 cup green onion; stir until cheese begins to melt. Cover and remove from heat. Let stand 3 to 4 minutes. Stir; spoon into serving dishes. Garnish with remaining 2 Tbsp. green onion, if desired.
