    100 jumbo plastic straws
    2 (3-oz.) pkg. Hy-Vee orange gelatin dessert
    2 envelope(s) Knox unflavored gelatin, divided
    3 c. water, boiling; divided
    1 ½ c. Hy-Vee 100% orange juice, boiling
    2 (3-oz.) pkg. cherry gelatin dessert
    1 ½ c. Hy-Vee no-sugar-added 100% apple juice, boiling

    • 4-cup glass measuring cup

    Directions

    1. Place straws in a tall, straight-sided heat-safe container; set aside. 

    2. Combine orange gelatin and 1 envelope unflavored gelatin in a 4-cup glass measuring cup. Add 1½ cups boiling water and boiling orange juice; stir for 2 minutes or until completely dissolved. 

    3. Pour orange gelatin mixture into container, filling straws and container halfway. Refrigerate 2 to 4 hours or until partially set. 

    4. Combine cherry gelatin and remaining 1 envelope unflavored gelatin in a clean 4-cup glass measuring cup. Add remaining 1½ cups boiling water and boiling apple juice; stir for 2 minutes or until completely dissolved. 

    5. Pour cherry gelatin mixture on top of orange mixture in container, filling straws. Refrigerate 4 to 5 minutes or until set. 

    6. Remove straws individually from container. Loosen gelatin in straws by rinsing each straw under warm running water. Place a gelatin-filled straw on a flat surface. Using a rolling pin, roll from one end of straw to opposite end to squeeze gelatin out of straw. Repeat removing gelatin from remaining staws.
