½ tsp. lemon zest
Kosher salt

Directions

  1. Bring a large saucepan of water to boiling. Add green beans and boil for 5 to 10 minutes or until crisp-tender. Remove beans; drain and plunge into ice water.

  2. Combine 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, parsley, pine nuts, olive oil, garlic, and lemon zest in a medium bowl.

  3. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add Parmesan mixture; cook and stir until heated through. Add green beans; cook for 3 minutes more or until beans are tender, tossing frequently to coat with the sauce. Remove from heat and transfer beans to a serving platter. Season to taste with salt and pepper and, if desired, garnish with additional Parmesan cheese.
