Go Go Gorgonzola Burger
This fresh take on a classic burger gets an update with arugula, cucumber, homemade pickled red onion, and crumbled Gorgonzola cheese.
Servings and Ingredients
|¼ c.||Hy-Vee white vinegar|
|¼ c.||Hy-Vee granulated sugar|
|½ tsp.||Hy-Vee salt|
|1||red onion, thinly sliced|
|4||(5-oz. each) 85%-lean ground chuck patties|
|4||Hy-Vee bakery hamburger buns|
|3 c.||fresh arugula|
|1||cucumber, thinly sliced|
|½ c.||crumbled gorgonzola cheese|

- Charcoal or gas grill
- Meat thermometer
- For the onions, bring vinegar, sugar and salt to a simmer. Pour over sliced onion and let stand at least 20 minutes at room temperature. Drain thoroughly.
- Lightly grease grill rack. Prepare a charcoal or gas grill for direct cooking over medium heat.
- Grill patties for 10 to 12 minutes or until internal temperature of patties are 160 degrees, turning once halfway through.
- To assemble burgers, top bottom bun with arugula, grilled patty, cucumber, red onion, gorgonzola and top bun.
