1 tbsp. Hy-Vee butter
1 clove(s) garlic, minced
1 (6.09 oz) box original rice pilaf mix
1 ¾ c. warm water
1 (1-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled
Juice of half a lemon
Hy-Vee pepper, to taste
½ c. coarsely chopped Hy-Vee pecans, toasted

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and rice. Stir until garlic and rice are golden, about 4 minutes.
  2. Stir in water, ginger, lemon juice, spice packet from the pilaf mix and pepper, to taste.
  3. Cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed.
  4. Remove piece of ginger and discard. Fluff rice with a fork and stir in pecans.
