    1 (16-oz.) pkg. Hy-Vee homemade extra wide noodles
    6 slice(s) Hy-Vee bacon
    1 small onion, chopped
    ¼ c. Hy-Vee granulated sugar
    ¼ c. Hy-Vee all-purpose flour
    ¼ tsp. Hy-Vee salt
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee ground mustard
    2 c. water
    ½ c. Hy-Vee apple cider vinegar
    3 c. celery, thinly sliced

    Directions

    1. Cook noodles according to package instructions; set aside.

    2. In a large sauté pan, cook bacon until crispy. Drain bacon grease, reserving 4 tablespoons bacon drippings in the skillet. Drain bacon of remaining drippings on paper towels.

    3. Sauté onion in bacon drippings until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in sugar, flour, salt and mustard into onions. Add water and cider vinegar and stir well.  Cook until thickened and bubbly, about 10 minutes. Pour over noodles; add celery and crumbled bacon; stir well.
