Servings and Ingredients
|Canola or cooking oil, for frying|
|1 tbsp. chopped fresh sage|
|1 tbsp. dried sage leaf|
|2 (7.5 oz each) cans Hy-Vee refrigerated buttermilk biscuits|
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat 2 inches oil to 350 degrees.
- In a shallow bowl stir together fresh and dried sage; set aside.
- Separate biscuits. Fold each biscuit in half to form a half-moon shape. Pinch the curved edges together in the center. On each side, pull the open edges of the half-moon back together over the half-moon and crimp at the top. Stretch and pinch dough to form a diamond-shaped ball.
- Fry biscuits in oil until golden, flipping with tongs to fry both sides. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with sage mixture.
