    10 lemons, peeled and divided
    2 c. water
    2 c. Hy-Vee granulated sugar
    1 (750-ml.) bottle unflavored vodka

    • Citrus peeler
    • Medium saucepan
    • Large food-safe pitcher

    Directions

    1. Add the peels of 5 lemons to a medium saucepan with water and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Simmer, uncovered 5 minutes. Remove from heat; cool and strain.

    2. Add remaining peels of 5 lemons to a food-safe pitcher. Add vodka and lemon simple syrup. Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 4 days.

    3. When ready to serve, strain over ice, or use as an ingredient in your favorite cocktail.
