Dad's Famous Butterscotch Oatmeal Cookies
There's a few reasons these cookies are famous, but it's mostly because of the butterscotch.
Servings and Ingredients
|1 c.||packed Hy-Vee brown sugar|
|½ c.||Hy-Vee granulated sugar|
|¾ c.||Hy-Vee vegetable shortening|
|1||Hy-Vee large egg|
|1 tsp.||Hy-Vee vanilla extract|
|3 c.||Hy-Vee quick oats|
|1 c.||Hy-Vee flour|
|1 tsp.||Hy-Vee salt|
|½ tsp.||Hy-Vee baking soda|
|1||(12 ounce) bag Hy-Vee butterscotch baking chips|
Things To Grab
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray cookie sheets with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cream sugars, shortening, egg, water and vanilla until smooth.
- Combine quick oats, flour, salt and baking soda in a large bowl. Add to creamed mixture, mixing until just blended. Stir in butterscotch chips.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto prepared cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
