    2 oz. simple syrup
    ⅓ c. fresh basil, lightly packed, plus additional for garnish
    ½ oz. fresh lime juice
    4 oz. cucumber-and-lime-flavored mineral water

    Directions

    1. Combine cucumber and simple syrup in a small saucepan. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in basil leaves and lime juice. Cover and let stand 10 minutes. Remove cover and allow to cool completely. 

    2. Arrange cucumber slices in an 8-oz. cocktail glass. Fill with ice. Strain mixture into prepared glass. Top with cucumber-and-lime-flavored mineral water. Garnish with additional basil leaves, if desired.
