Crisp Apple and Sausage Salad
This refreshing Apple and Sausage Salad has all of the goodness of your favorite sausage without the bun. This recipe uses mixed greens, Granny Smith apples, blue cheese and a honey mustard dressing to give you a light meal that won't keep you down. |1||(12 oz) pkg Johnsonville apple chicken sausage links|
|1 tbsp.||olive oil|
|1||Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced|
|1 tbsp.||lemon juice|
|1 packet(s)||Hy-Vee garden salad|
|½||small red onion, thinly sliced|
|½ c.||crumbled blue cheese|
|½ c.||honey mustard salad dressing|
- In a skillet, cook sausage in oil over medium heat until browned. Set aside to cool.
- In a small bowl, combine apple slices and lemon juice.
- In a large salad bowl, combine the salad greens, onion, blue cheese and apple slices. Add salad dressing; toss to coat. Gently stir in sausage. Serve immediately.
