This refreshing Apple and Sausage Salad has all of the goodness of your favorite sausage without the bun. This recipe uses mixed greens, Granny Smith apples, blue cheese and a honey mustard dressing to give you a light meal that won't keep you down. Servings and Ingredients
|1 (12 oz) pkg Johnsonville apple chicken sausage links|
|1 tbsp. olive oil|
|1 Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced|
|1 tbsp. lemon juice|
|1 packet(s) Hy-Vee garden salad|
|½ small red onion, thinly sliced|
|½ c. crumbled blue cheese|
|½ c. honey mustard salad dressing|
- In a skillet, cook sausage in oil over medium heat until browned. Set aside to cool.
- In a small bowl, combine apple slices and lemon juice.
- In a large salad bowl, combine the salad greens, onion, blue cheese and apple slices. Add salad dressing; toss to coat. Gently stir in sausage. Serve immediately.
