Creamy Carrots au Gratin
Servings and Ingredients
|1||(16 oz) package Hy-Vee baby carrots|
|1 ½ c.||Hy-Vee nonfat milk|
|2 tbsp.||Hy-Vee flour|
|Hy-Vee salt and Hy-Vee pepper, to taste|
|1 c.||Hy-Vee shredded 2% cheddar cheese|
|¼ c.||Hy-Vee seasoned bread crumbs|
|2 tbsp.||Hy-Vee butter, melted|
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place carrots in a medium saucepan. Add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil; cover. Simmer 10 minutes or until crisp-tender.
- In small saucepan, whisk together milk and flour. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese and carrots. Transfer to a greased oven-safe serving dish.
- Stir together bread crumbs and butter. Sprinkle over carrots. Bake 5 to 10 minutes or until bread crumbs are golden brown.
