    1 (16 oz) package Hy-Vee baby carrots
    1 ½ c. Hy-Vee nonfat milk
    2 tbsp. Hy-Vee flour
    Hy-Vee salt and Hy-Vee pepper, to taste
    1 c. Hy-Vee shredded 2% cheddar cheese
    ¼ c. Hy-Vee seasoned bread crumbs
    2 tbsp. Hy-Vee butter, melted

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place carrots in a medium saucepan. Add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil; cover. Simmer 10 minutes or until crisp-tender.
    2. In small saucepan, whisk together milk and flour. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese and carrots. Transfer to a greased oven-safe serving dish.
    3. Stir together bread crumbs and butter. Sprinkle over carrots. Bake 5 to 10 minutes or until bread crumbs are golden brown.
