    ½ c. butter
    2 c. chopped celery
    ½ c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. thyme leaves
    1 tsp. rosemary leaves
    1 tsp. parsley flakes
    2 red tart apples, cored and chopped
    1 ¼ c. dried cranberries
    1 tsp. grated orange peel, optional
    4 c. unseasoned dry bread cubes
    1 c. chicken broth

    Directions

    1. Melt butter in a skillet. Add celery and onion. Saute for 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat. Stir in thyme, rosemary, parsley, apples, cranberries and orange peel, if desired.
    2. Place bread cubes in a large bowl. Stir in fruit/vegetable mixture. Add broth. Toss to combine.
    3. Place in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
    4. Bake, covered, at 325 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
