    1 yellow onion, quartered
    2 tsp. Hy-Vee chili powder
    ¼ tsp. Hy-Vee cayenne pepper
    2 (12-oz.) bottles wheat beer
    4 Hy-Vee hot dog buns
    3 tbsp. Hy-Vee spicy brown mustard, divided
    1 c. sauerkraut, drained and divided
    ¼ c. Hy-Vee Short Cuts chopped white onion, divided

    • Large saucepan
    • Meat thermometer

    Directions

    1. Preheat a greased charcoal or gas grill over medium heat.

    2. Place hot dogs, yellow onion, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and beer in a large saucepan over medium heat. Simmer, about 10 minutes until hot dogs reach an internal temperature of 150 degrees; discard beer mixture.

    3. Place hot dogs on grill. Grill for about 5 to 10 minutes until grill marks form and hot dogs reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

    4. Place hot dogs on buns. Top with spicy brown mustard, sauerkraut, and white onion. Serve immediately.
