    Naturally sweet oranges make an excellent topper for whole-grain waffles and plain yogurt. A simple homemade pomegranate syrup is a flavorful and more nutritious substitute for maple syrup.

    1 c.raspberry-pomegranate juice
    ¼ c.Hy-Vee Select 100% pure maple syrup
    1 tsp.Hy-Vee butter
    2frozen 7-grain or whole-grain waffles
    1(5.3-oz.) container Hy-Vee Greek plain nonfat yogurt
    1medium mandarin orange, peeled and cut crosswise into ¼-inch-thick slices
    1 c.fresh raspberries
    2 tbsp.pomegranate seeds

    Directions

    1. Combine raspberry-pomegranate juice and maple syrup in a small saucepan. Bring mixture to boiling; reduce heat. Gently boil mixture until reduced to 1/3 cup. Stir in butter. Cool slightly.
    2. Heat waffles according to package directions. Serve waffles topped with yogurt, orange slices, syrup and raspberries. Sprinkle pomegranate seeds on top.
