Chinese No-Meat Balls

1 (14 oz) package beef-flavored GimmeLean | ||
2 tsp. minced fresh ginger | ||
1 clove(s) garlic, minced | ||
1 tbsp. cornstarch | ||
1 tsp. sugar | ||
2 tsp. rice vinegar | ||
1 tbsp. lower-sodium soy sauce | ||
1 c. vegetable broth | ||
1 ½ tsp. dark sesame oil | ||
2 tsp. minced fresh ginger | ||
1 clove(s) garlic, minced | ||
2 green onions, thinly sliced |
Directions
- Mix together GimmeLean, 2 teaspoons fresh ginger and minced clove of garlic. Form into 24 (1-inch) balls.
- Brown balls in nonstick skillet over moderate heat.
- Meanwhile, combine cornstarch, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and vegetable broth. Set aside.
- In medium saucepan, heat 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil over moderate heat. Add 2 teaspoons fresh ginger and 1 clove minced garlic and cook briefly. Do not let them brown.
- Stir in vegetable broth mixture and heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
- Mix in green onions and remaining 1 teaspoon sesame oil and remove from heat.
- Pour sauce over browned meatballs. Serve warm with toothpicks.
