Chewy Butterscotch Squares

¼ c. butter or margarine, melted | ||
1 (6 oz) pkg butterscotch chips | ||
2 eggs | ||
½ tsp. vanilla | ||
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar | ||
½ c. chopped or whole walnuts | ||
1 c. sifted flour | ||
1 tsp. baking powder |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13-by-9-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray; set aside.
- Place melted butter, chips, eggs, vanilla and brown sugar in blender jar in order listed. Cover and blend until smooth.
- Sift flour and baking powder into bowl. Stir chopped walnuts, if desired, and butterscotch mixture into flour mixture. Spread in prepared pan.
- If using walnut halves, place on top of batter.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick insert in the center comes out clean.
