1 c. Crisco shortening | ||
2 (21 oz each) cans cherry pie filling | ||
1 tbsp. water | ||
1 c. powdered sugar | ||
½ tsp. vanilla extract |
Directions
- Add enough milk to egg yolk to equal 2/3 cup liquid.
- Mix flour, salt, shortening and yolk/milk mixture. Mix as to form pie crust. Roll out half the dough. Line an 11-by-17-by-1-inch jelly roll pan.
- Spread pie filling over crust.
- Roll out remaining dough. Place over pie filling and seal edges.
- Poke some holes in top of crust to vent. Beat reserved egg white until stiff. Brush over top of crust.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.
- Mix water, powdered sugar and vanilla. Drizzle over hot crust.
- Cut bars when cooled.
