    1 packet(s) Kraft vanilla caramels (48 caramels)
    ⅔ c. evaporated milk, divided
    1 packet(s) German chocolate cake mix
    ½ c. margarine, melted
    1 c. chocolate chips
    ½ c. chopped nuts

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk together. Set aside.
    3. Mix cake mix, margarine and remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk together. Spread half in a 9-by-13-inch pan. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
    4. Pour caramel mixture on top of cake layer. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Drop remaining cake mixture by spoonfuls and flatten slightly with back of a spoon.
    5. Bake for 20 more minutes. Cool completely before cutting. Store in refrigerator or freezer.
