    Make this cranberry sangria, or crangria to spice up your cocktails. You can also use the cranberry-wine reduction to make a topping for holiday desserts or cheese plates.

    4 c. cranberries, fresh or frozen
    1 bottle(s) (750ml) Pinot Noir, divided
    1 c. Hy-Vee brown sugar, packed
    1 c. Hy-Vee honey
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee vanilla extract
    ½ tsp. ground allspice
    ½ ground cloves
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee whole black peppercorns
    3 sticks cinnamon, or 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    2 medium oranges, juiced
    Optional Flavorings and Garnishes
    Ginger beer, for serving
    Hy-Vee club soda, for serving
    Fresh herbs, such as rosemary
    Fresh fruit , such as cranberries, apples, or oranges

    Directions

    1. Heat cranberries in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once cranberries start to pop and break open, about 10 to 15 minutes, stir in 1-1/2 cups Pinot Noir. Reduce heat and continue to simmer until thickened about 15 to 20 minutes.

    2. Add brown sugar, vanilla, allspice, cloves, peppercorns, and cinnamon sticks. Return to simmer; simmer 5 minutes or until flavors combine. Remove from heat, place in a large pitcher, refrigerate at least 2 hours or until chilled.

    3. Once mixture cools, stir in remaining Pinot Noir and orange juice. Pour into cocktail glasses. If desired, top with ginger beer, club soda, fresh herbs, and/or fresh fruit.
