Cake Mix Apple Crisp

8 Jonathan apples, peeled, cored and sliced | ||

1 (18.5 oz) pkg Hy-Vee white cake mix | ||
1 c. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee ground cinnamon | ||
½ c. Hy-Vee butter, melted | ||
Hy-Vee whipped topping, optional |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Arrange apples in the bottom of a lightly greased 9-by-13-inch baking pan. Pour water over apples.
- In a medium mixing bowl, stir together cake mix, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter and blend until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apples.
- Bake uncovered for 50 minutes.
- Serve warm with Hy-Vee whipped topping if desired.
