    Everyone loves buttered popcorn, but we stepped it up a notch by browning the butter to add a nutty caramelized flavor. Eat as is, or take it even one step further by adding your favorite seasonings.

    ¼ c. Hy-Vee unsalted butter
    Desired mix-ins, if desired; such as: salt, cinnamon-sugar, Hy-Vee Italian seasoning, or Hy-Vee grated Parmesan cheese

    Directions

    1. Remove outer plastic from popcorn packaging. Microwave on HIGH for 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 minutes staying near by to make sure popcorn does not burn. Carefully remove bag from microwave; open bag and pour into a large bowl.

    2. Meanwhile, add butter to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stirring frequently, allow butter to melt. Continue cooking butter until it begins to foam. Cook 30 seconds to 1 minute more or until butter turns golden brown and begins to smell nutty. Remove from heat.

    3. Pour brown butter over popcorn in bowl. Toss to combine. If desired, season to taste with salt, cinnamon-sugar, Italian seasoning, or grated Parmesan cheese.
