    2 lbs. boneless chuck roast
    ⅓ c. chopped onion
    1 c. Hy-Vee honey smoke barbecue sauce
    2 tbsp. Hy-Vee strawberry preserves
    6 Hy-Vee hamburger buns, split and toasted

    Directions

    1. Trim excess fat from beef. Cut into 4 pieces. Place beef in a 3- to 5-quart slow cooker.
    2. Combine onion, barbeque sauce and strawberry preserves in a small bowl. Pour over beef. Cover and cook on HIGH 5 to 6 hours or until beef is tender.
    3. Remove beef from slow cooker and place in a large bowl. Shred with 2 forks. Return shredded beef to slow cooker. Stir to combine.
    4. Cover and cook on LOW for 20 to 30 minutes longer or until shredded beef is hot. Fill buns with shredded beef.
