Baked Stuffed Apples with Caramel Topping

1 apple, washed and cored | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee butter, softened | ||
1 tbsp. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar | ||
1 pinch(es) Hy-Vee ground cinnamon | ||
1 tbsp. uncooked Hy-Vee quick cooking oats | ||
2 tsp. Hy-Vee chopped walnuts | ||
1 tbsp. fat-free caramel sauce, optional |
Directions
- Place apple in a small microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave on HIGH for 4 minutes or until tender.
- In a separate small bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, oats and walnuts. Spoon into the center of the apple.
- Let sit a couple minutes before eating. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
