    4 medium baking apples
    ½ c. brown sugar
    ½ tsp. powdered cloves
    ½ tsp. cinnamon
    ½ c. honey
    ½ c. water

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
    2. Core and slice apples into 1/2-inch rings. Place in shallow baking dish.
    3. In saucepan, combine and heat remaining ingredients.
    4. Pour over apples and bake 15 minutes or until tender, turning to baste once or twice.
    5. Variation: Very good with red-hot candies put in the center of each ring.
