Apple Pie Beertail
Three things we love, these spirited drinks blend cider and IPA with whiskey.
Servings and Ingredients
|2 tbsp.||Hy-Vee brown sugar|
|1 tsp.||Hy-Vee ground cinnamon, divided|
|2 c.||apple cider|
|¼ tsp.||ground nutmeg|
|2 tbsp.||lemon juice|
|2||(12 oz each) bottles IPA beer|
|½||apple, cored and cut into small wedges|
- On small plate, combine sugar with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Rim 6 high-ball glasses with lemon wedge; dip each glass in sugar mixture until evenly coated around rim. Fill each glass halfway with ice; set aside.
- To make the cocktail, combine apple cider, remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves; bring to boil. Simmer for 2 minutes; remove from heat and let cool completely. Strain; stir in whiskey and lemon juice.
- Divide evenly among glasses; top up each glass with beer. Garnish each glass with cinnamon stick and apple wedge.
- Tip: Prepare this recipe with Baraboo Lumberjack IPA for really great flavor.
